Please note, this listing is for a Red Tiger Lotus plant bulb, which may or may not have any sprouting leaves. But do not fear, growing Red Tiger Lotus plants in an aquarium is quick and easy. Photo(s) are generic images to illustrate the Red Tiger Lotus plant potential growth. You will receive a Red Tiger Lotus bulb only.

How do you grow a Red Tiger Lotus bulb in an aquarium?
The Red Tiger Lotus plant is supplied as a bulb, with or without any leaves. Red Tiger Lotus plant bulbs must not be completely buried in substrate to prevent rot. You do not need to plant a Red Tiger Lotus bulb, they will sprout if left to float, but in terms of nutrient absorption, it is wise to introduce into your substrate. Firmly place the healthy bulb into your substrate, with about half of the bulb buried. You can grow Red Tiger Lotus plants in any aquarium with moderate to bright lighting. Under moderate but prolonged lighting, the bulb will sprout red lotus leaves, and grow towards the light source. The bulb may continue to sprout shoots and increase in overall size.

How fast do Red Tiger Lotus plants grow?
Red Tiger Lotus plants will grow quickly under proper lighting, and can increase a couple of centimetres per day. The closer the Red Tiger Lotus bulb is placed or planted to the light source, the faster it will sprout. You can expect to see leaves within 2-3 weeks of planting in optimum conditions. Red Tiger Lotus plants can grow to quite a height in deep aquariums, if the light source is able to penetrate to a decent depth and isn't shadowed by other plants. Adding a basic aquatic plant fertiliser regularly to your aquarium will help achieve growth. Avoid housing with fish that eat or attack plants, Red Tiger Lotus plant stems and leaves can be quite brittle, and should be handled carefully and infrequently when growing.

Please note: whilst every effort is made to prevent or remove snails and snail eggs, we do not use copper treatments in our systems (because copper is also harmful to shrimp) so cannot absolutely guarantee snail-free. If you are concerned about snails, we recommended that you dip your plants in a snail preventative solution, such as Esha Gastropex, prior to adding to your aquarium. We do not recommend buying treated plants, or administering copper or anti-snail treatments if you have shrimp in your aquarium. Snails are perfectly safe in an aquarium and will not harm your fish.
