Glass Catfish
Kryptopterus bicirrhis and Kryptopterus vitreolus, also known as ghost, glass, phantom or x-ray catfish, are transparent catfish with two long barbels, most of their organs are near the head and its heart can be seen beating. Not only does this look amazing, it also provides quite a bit of camouflage from predators. The Glass Catfish feeds on algae and shoals in small groups.
From the family Siluridae, the glass catfish is an active mid-level swimmer of calm temperament, and will thrive in well-planted community aquariums.

Easy/moderate. Very hardy but a little jittery.
Diet
Omnivore - The main food we recommend would be small algae pellets. Mixing in some live or frozen brine, or other fresh alternatives can help enhance their health.
Compatibility
Community with other peaceful fish such as Swordtails, Mollies, Danios and White Cloud Mountain Minnows. Will shoal in larger aquariums - ideally 150 litres capacity or more. Not recommended to be kept with large or aggressive fish such as Cichlids and Oscars.
Breeding
Egg layers during rainy seasons, wild species, not known to be bred in mainstream captivity.
Life Span
They can live to 8 years in perfect conditions.
