Red Tail Black Shark

The red tail shark, scientifically known as Epalzeorhynchos bicolor, is a freshwater fish species that's popular in the aquarium hobby. Here are some key points about them:

Appearance: They have a striking appearance with a sleek, black body and a vivid, bright red tail. This contrast makes them quite eye-catching in aquariums.

Size: They typically grow to about 6 inches (15 cm) in length.

Behaviour: Red tail sharks are known for their territorial and sometimes aggressive nature, especially towards other fish that look similar to them. They prefer to have their own space and can be a bit of a bully in the tank.

Habitat: They are native to Thailand, specifically the Chao Phraya River Basin. In the wild, they inhabit fast-flowing streams and rivers with rocky substrates.

Tank Requirements: For keeping red tail sharks in an aquarium, it's recommended to have at least a 55-gallon tank with plenty of hiding spots and territories marked by decorations like rocks and plants.

Diet: They are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms.

Lifespan: With proper care, red tail sharks can live for about 5 to 8 years.

The Red Tail Black Shark is a distinctive freshwater fish that strives in a large aquarium. They can be slightly aggressive so no long finned or slow tank mates
