Can you keep Gold White Cloud Mountain Minnows in Tropical Aquariums?

The Gold White Cloud Mountain minnow is a hardy species of freshwater fish and coldwater fish often kept in an aquarium. The species is a member of the carp family of the order Cypriniformes, native to China.

Although typically sold as a coldwater fish, yes, White Cloud Mountain Minnows can be adapted to live in warmer tropical aquaria. Always check what temperature they are held in at the retailer, and be sure to take your time acclimatising White Cloud Mountain Minnows if they are to be held in a warmer tropical aquarium - bring them up to temperature slowly before release.

White Cloud Mountain Minnows are a popular cohabitant for fancy goldfish, which generally need a more temperate aquarium of around 18-22 degrees. White Cloud Mountain Minnows will generally thrive in temperatures no lower than 15 degrees.
