The Black Tiger Shrimp is a striking high-grade Caridina variety, known for its deep black body contrasted with bold striping and vibrant eyes. Highly prized by shrimp keepers, it makes a dramatic addition to aquascaped tanks.
Origin:
Originally derived from wild Caridina in Asia, selectively bred in captivity for intense coloration and pattern.
Feeding:
Omnivores that feed on biofilm, algae, shrimp-specific pellets, blanched vegetables, and occasional protein-based foods.
Tank Mates:
Best in species-only or peaceful community aquariums with small, non-aggressive tank mates such as rasboras, otocinclus, and snails.
Aggression:
Entirely peaceful and social — thrives in groups.
Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists due to sensitivity to water parameters.
