Ostracion cyanurus
Description
A small boxfish in brilliant blue with a yellow-spotted body on males, from the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. Striking, and with the same toxin risk as its relatives.
Feeding
Omnivorous. Frozen mysis, clam, chopped prawn, marine pellets and dried algae, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful and slow-moving. Not reef safe with small invertebrates. Cannot be housed with aggressive or nippy tankmates.
Behaviour and personality
Hovers on small whirring fins, exploring slowly and without apparent fear.
Before you buy
Releases a potent toxin when severely stressed or dying, which can kill an entire aquarium. Requires a calm species-appropriate system and very careful acclimation.

Free delivery when your livestock subtotal is over £350.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum order value.

- In-stock livestock orders will be processed and dispatched for delivery on the date selected on the cart/basket page.

- If any stock issues affect your chosen delivery date, we will contact you as soon as possible by email or telephone.
- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
