Overview:
The Arrow Goby, also known as the Convict Goby, is a fascinating and active fish characterized by its slender, elongated body with distinctive black-and-white stripes. Known for its burrowing and schooling behavior, it adds both activity and intrigue to a marine aquarium.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, often found in sandy or rubble substrates near coral reefs.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feeds on small crustaceans, copepods, and detritus. In aquariums, it accepts finely chopped seafood, mysis shrimp, and high-quality sinking pellets. Requires supplemental feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful. Best housed with small, non-aggressive fish. Avoid large, predatory species that may outcompete or harass it.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive and social, often forming groups.
Experience Level:
Intermediate. Requires a mature aquarium with a sandy substrate for burrowing, stable water parameters, and ample hiding spots.
