Originating from Japan, metallic koi are selectively bred for their reflective scales and striking coloration. This assorted selection showcases the beauty and variation found within classic metallic koi strains, each with its own distinctive character.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for hobbyists of all experience levels when provided with proper water quality and space.
