Canthigaster bennetti
Description
A small toby puffer in olive-brown scattered with electric blue spots and lines. Inquisitive, characterful and thoroughly untrustworthy with invertebrates.
Feeding
Carnivorous with hard-shelled prey. Needs shell-on foods - krill, clam, mussel and snails - to wear down continuously growing teeth. Supplement with mysis and pellets.
Compatibility
Not reef safe. Will eat ornamental shrimp, snails, feather dusters and clams, and nip corals and slow fish. Best in a fish-only system.
Behaviour and personality
Hovers and manoeuvres precisely, watching the room closely and quick to recognise its keeper.
Before you buy
The teeth grow continuously and require hard-shelled food or the fish eventually cannot feed. One per tank.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
