Ecsenius bicolor
Description
A blenny split cleanly down the body, dark blue at the front and warm orange at the rear, with a comically expressive face. Hardy and full of personality.
Feeding
Grazes filamentous algae, and needs supplementary dried algae, spirulina foods and frozen mysis once the tank is clean.
Compatibility
Reef safe and generally peaceful, though territorial with other blennies. Occasionally nips at small polyps and clam mantles.
Behaviour and personality
Perches in a favourite hole with only the head showing, then darts out to graze. Constantly watching the room.
Before you buy
Needs a mature tank with algae and plenty of small rock holes to claim. Will need feeding deliberately once it has grazed the tank clean.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
