Poecilia reticulata
Description
A tuxedo-pattern guppy with a pale blonde forebody breaking sharply into a solid dark rear and a broad red tail. The contrast is what makes the strain, and it holds well in good stock.
Feeding
Quality flake and micro-pellets with some vegetable content, plus frozen daphnia and brine shrimp.
Compatibility
Peaceful and suitable for most communities. Avoid fin-nippers such as tiger barbs and serpae tetras. Keep two or three females per male so no single female is harassed.
Behaviour and personality
Constantly active and always on show. Males display to females throughout the day, flaring their fins and posturing.
Before you buy
Guppies want hard, alkaline water and struggle in soft acidic tanks. A mixed-sex group will produce fry continuously, so either plan for that or keep males only.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum or maximum order value.
