Ostorhinchus compressus
Description
A pale striped cardinalfish with brilliant blue eyes, hovering calmly among rockwork. Peaceful, hardy and undemanding.
Feeding
Carnivorous. Frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and marine pellets, fed in the evening when the fish is most active.
Compatibility
Reef safe and peaceful. Keep in a small group. Will eat very small shrimp and fry.
Behaviour and personality
Hovers quietly among branching coral and rockwork during the day, becoming more active toward dusk.
Before you buy
Largely crepuscular, so feed toward the end of the day. Calm tankmates suit it best, as it will not compete with fast aggressive feeders.
