Native to the Indo-Pacific, including Indonesia and the Great Barrier Reef, Macropharyngodon cyanoguttatus inhabits sandy reef slopes and rubble zones, often burrowing in sand for rest or protection.

An omnivore that thrives on frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets. Supplement with live rock to encourage natural foraging for small crustaceans and worms. Feed 2–3 times daily.

Peaceful and reef-safe, making it ideal for community aquariums with gobies, tangs, anthias, and other small, non-aggressive fish. Avoid overly aggressive or territorial tank mates.
