Pentapodus emeryii
Description
A slender, fast-swimming fish in yellow and electric blue with long trailing tail filaments. Constantly on the move and rarely offered.
Feeding
Carnivorous. Frozen mysis, chopped prawn and marine pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful toward fish of similar size but will eat small fish and shrimp. Needs substantial open swimming space.
Behaviour and personality
Swims constantly and rapidly in open water above sand. Nervous and easily startled.
Before you buy
Needs a large open tank with swimming length and a sealed lid, as it is easily spooked and will crash into glass or leap. Not suitable for a small or heavily aquascaped reef.
