Description

Bolbo Clown Fairy Parrot Wrasse Cirrhilabrus Rubrisquamis

Overview: The Bolbo Clown Fairy Parrot Wrasse is a stunning addition to any marine aquarium, known for its vibrant colors and dynamic swimming behavior. This species sports a mesmerizing palette of reds, oranges, and blues, making it a captivating sight as it gracefully glides through the water.

Origin: Native to the Western Pacific Ocean, particularly around Indonesia and the Philippines, this species thrives in coral-rich areas of the reef, where it can be found swimming among the crevices and overhangs.

Feeding: A carnivore, the Bolbo Clown Fairy Parrot Wrasse requires a diet rich in protein. Offer a variety of foods including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other marine preparations. For optimal health, feed small amounts two to three times daily.

Tank Mates: This wrasse is generally peaceful and can be housed with a variety of other reef-safe fish. Ideal tank mates include other fairy wrasses, small to medium-sized peaceful fish, and invertebrates. Avoid housing with aggressive species that may bully or stress this wrasse.

Aggression: Exhibits low aggression towards other fish. It may show territorial behavior towards other wrasses of similar shape and size, so it is recommended to introduce all wrasses to the tank simultaneously if possible.

Experience Level: Intermediate. While not overly demanding, maintaining optimal water quality and a stress-free environment is crucial for the well-being of the Bolbo Clown Fairy Parrot Wrasse.

Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: 72-78°F (22-25.5°C)
  • pH: 8.1-8.4
  • Specific Gravity: 1.020-1.025
  • dKH: 8-12
To thrive, this wrasse requires a well-established tank with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing. A tight-fitting lid is also recommended, as this species is known to jump when startled or stressed.
