The Bonita Cory is a rare and charming dwarf Corydoras species prized for its compact size, gentle temperament, and attractive speckled patterning. Active, peaceful, and social, it’s an excellent addition to small community aquariums and planted nano setups.

Native to Ecuador, typically found in cool, clear, slow-flowing tributaries with sandy or fine gravel substrates.

Omnivorous and easy to feed:

• Sinking nano pellets and Cory wafers
• Frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and baby brine shrimp
• Occasional live micro foods for conditioning
  Note: Feed primarily sinking foods—Corydoras seldom take food from the surface.

Perfect for peaceful, small community aquariums:

• Nano tetras and rasboras
• Small peaceful livebearers
• Dwarf cichlids (e.g., Apistogramma)
• Other dwarf Corydoras
• Small loaches

Avoid: Large, nippy, or aggressive fish that may stress or outcompete them.

Very low. The Bonita Cory is a schooling species and should be kept in groups of 6 or more to encourage natural behavior and reduce shyness.

Intermediate. While hardy once settled, this species benefits from clean, well-oxygenated water and stable conditions.
