Cirripectes castaneus
Description
A chestnut-brown blenny with a fringe of eyelash-like cirri above each eye and fine blue speckling. An effective algae grazer with real character.
Feeding
Primarily herbivorous. Grazes filamentous algae from rock, supplemented with dried algae sheets and spirulina-based foods.
Compatibility
Reef safe and peaceful toward other species, territorial with other blennies. One per tank.
Behaviour and personality
Perches on rockwork and grazes in short bursts. The fringe of cirri above the eyes gives the species its name.
Before you buy
Needs an established tank with algae growth to graze. Once the tank is clean it must be fed deliberately, or it will slowly decline.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum or maximum order value.
