The Doitsu Showa Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking, high-quality ornamental koi featuring a bold tri-color pattern of black, red, and white set against a smooth, scale-less body. Its long, flowing butterfly fins and strong contrast make it a standout centerpiece in any premium koi pond.
Origin:
Developed in Japan, the Doitsu Showa combines the dramatic coloration of traditional Showa koi with a sleek, scaleless body. As a Grade A specimen, it exhibits superior pattern balance, color intensity, and overall body conformation.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, making it ideal for mixed koi ponds.
