Omnivorous. Accepts sinking pellets, flakes, frozen foods (bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis), and live foods. Regular feeding encourages natural foraging behavior and enhances vibrant coloration.

Peaceful with similarly sized, non-aggressive species. Compatible with barbs, rainbowfish, peaceful cichlids, and other loaches. Avoid very small fish that may be eaten.

Low to moderate. Best kept in groups of 5 or more to reduce stress and allow natural social interaction. Can be territorial with conspecifics in cramped conditions.

Intermediate to advanced. Requires a large, well-maintained aquarium with stable water parameters and plenty of hiding spaces.
