Chaetodon falcula
Description
A white butterflyfish crossed with fine vertical lines, two bold black saddles along the back and a yellow rear. Hardy for the family.
Feeding
Omnivorous and relatively adaptable. Frozen mysis, clam, chopped prawn and marine pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful toward fish, often kept in pairs. Not reef safe - will eat corals, anemones and tubeworms.
Behaviour and personality
Cruises steadily around the tank picking at rockwork. Bold once settled.
Before you buy
One of the more reliable butterflyfish for feeding. Frequently confused with the very similar Chaetodon ulietensis, which comes from the Pacific.
