Dendrochirus biocellatus
Description
A small, secretive lionfish patterned in red and cream with two false eyespots on the dorsal fin and distinctive whisker-like appendages. Compact and full of character.
Feeding
Carnivorous ambush predator. Frozen prawn, silversides and chunks of marine fish offered on tongs, two or three times a week. Often needs weaning off live food.
Compatibility
Will eat any fish or shrimp it can swallow. Reef safe with corals. Best in a species tank or with fish clearly too large to eat.
Behaviour and personality
Nocturnal and secretive, spending the day tucked into a cave and hunting after dark.
Before you buy
Venomous dorsal spines - the sting is serious and requires medical attention, so handle with great care during maintenance. Smaller and more retiring than a common lionfish, but the same predatory rules apply.

DX courier delivery is £29.95 per livestock order.
Free delivery when your livestock subtotal is over £350.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum order value.

- In-stock livestock orders will be processed and dispatched for delivery on the date selected on the cart/basket page.
- Available delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
- If any stock issues affect your chosen delivery date, we will contact you as soon as possible by email or telephone.
- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
