Glorious Five Striped Wrasse Thalassoma Quinquevittatum

The Glorious Five Striped Wrasse, also known as the Pinkface Wrasse, is a vibrant and captivating species cherished by saltwater aquarium enthusiasts. This fish adds bright coloration and movement to the aquarium. It can be recognized by its bright green and yellow body with several thick pink stripes from its mouth to just behind the eyes. The hardy nature of this fish makes it a great addition for both novice and experienced aquarists1.
Origin
The Glorious Five Striped Wrasse originates from the East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, East Pacific, and Central/West Pacific2.
Feeding Habits
The diet of the Glorious Five Striped Wrasse should include vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flake and marine pellet food. It is known to eat mantis shrimp and bristleworms, as well as other crustaceans, but typically does not consume corals or live plants1.
Suitable Tank Mates
This species should reside in a 70-gallon or larger aquarium with other aggressive tank mates and plenty of rocks for hiding. It is suitable for fish-only tanks with larger, aggressive tank mates1.
Aggression Level
The Glorious Five Striped Wrasse can be territorial and may harass new additions to the aquarium. It is recommended to add this species as one of the last fish to the tank. It can also be aggressive towards smaller fishes, snails, and relatively small crustaceans2.
