Gastromyzon lepidogaster
Description
A small hillstream loach with a flattened body and bright green-gold lateral lines. Peaceful, industrious and built to cling to rock in fast water.
Feeding
Grazes biofilm and algae from smooth surfaces. Supplement with algae wafers and blanched vegetables once the tank is clean.
Compatibility
Peaceful with other species, though males squabble over grazing territory. Keep in a group with plenty of smooth rock. Suits cool, high-flow setups rather than standard community tanks.
Behaviour and personality
Clings to glass and rock in the strongest current available, grazing surfaces constantly.
Before you buy
Needs high flow, high oxygen and cooler water - a powerhead or strong return is essential, not optional. Will starve in a new tank with no established biofilm, so add only to a mature aquarium.

- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
