Nemateleotris helfrichi
Description
The rarest and most sought-after of the firefish, with a lavender-pink body and a yellow face. Collected from deeper water and priced accordingly.
Feeding
Small meaty foods. Frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and fine marine pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Reef safe and entirely peaceful. Keep singly or as a bonded pair. Very easily bullied - needs calm tankmates only.
Behaviour and personality
Hovers close to cover, considerably shyer than the red or purple firefish. Takes time to settle and gain confidence.
Before you buy
Expensive, shy and a determined jumper, so a sealed lid is essential. Give it a quiet tank with plenty of rockwork; in a busy system with aggressive fish it will hide and fail to feed.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum or maximum order value.
