Trigonostigma hengeli
Description
Slimmer and more translucent than the harlequin rasbora, with a black wedge underlined by a vivid orange stripe that looks almost backlit. Superb in a shoal against dark planting.
Feeding
Small flake, micro-pellets and frozen cyclops, daphnia and baby brine shrimp.
Compatibility
Peaceful nano community fish. Keep in groups of ten or more alongside small tetras, rasboras and corydoras.
Behaviour and personality
Shoals tightly and holds position in the middle of the tank. The orange stripe brightens noticeably when the fish are settled.
Before you buy
Softer, slightly acidic water brings out the colour. Blackwater-style setups with tannins and subdued light suit this species particularly well.
