Description
A rosy barb selected for an enlarged, sail-like dorsal fin, the males flushing deep red as they mature. Hardy and content in cooler water.
Feeding
Flake, pellets and frozen foods with vegetable content. Will graze soft plants.
Compatibility
Boisterous and will nip. Keep in groups of six or more with robust tankmates of similar size and speed.
Behaviour and personality
Strong, fast swimmers using the whole tank. Males display with the raised dorsal fin.
Before you buy
Larger than most buyers expect and better suited to cool or subtropical setups than a warm tropical community.
