Macropharyngodon lapillus
Description
A leopard wrasse in dark green scattered with bright jewel-like blue and orange spotting. Striking, uncommon and difficult to establish.
Feeding
Feeds on tiny invertebrates picked from rock and sand. Needs frozen mysis and enriched brine shrimp several times daily, plus a mature system with an established copepod population.
Compatibility
Reef safe with corals but hunts small invertebrates. Peaceful and easily outcompeted at feeding time.
Behaviour and personality
Picks constantly at rock and sand all day. Buries in the sand bed to sleep and when startled.
Before you buy
Leopard wrasses frequently arrive underweight and starve in tanks without an established pod population. A deep fine sand bed is essential - without it the fish cannot sleep properly and declines. Not a fish for a new tank.

Free delivery when your livestock subtotal is over £350.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum order value.

- In-stock livestock orders will be processed and dispatched for delivery on the date selected on the cart/basket page.
- Available delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
- If any stock issues affect your chosen delivery date, we will contact you as soon as possible by email or telephone.
- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
