Chaetodon rafflesii
Description
A yellow butterflyfish covered in a fine dark cross-hatched lattice, with a black eye band and rear margin. One of the more feedable Chaetodon.
Feeding
Omnivorous and more adaptable than the obligate coral feeders. Frozen mysis, clam, chopped prawn and marine pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful toward fish. Not reef safe - will eat soft corals, anemones and tubeworms.
Behaviour and personality
Cruises steadily and picks at rockwork. Settles reasonably readily for a butterflyfish.
Before you buy
Among the easier butterflyfish to establish, but thoroughly unsafe with corals and anemones. Best in a fish-only system.
