Pomacanthus navarchus
Description
A striking angelfish split between a deep blue body and a bright orange-yellow rear, edged in electric blue. One of the more manageable large angels.
Feeding
Omnivorous with a sponge component. Sponge-based angelfish preparations, mysis, clam, dried algae and marine pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Not reef safe - will eat soft corals, clams and zoanthids. Territorial toward other large angels.
Behaviour and personality
Cruises steadily, picking at rockwork. Shy on arrival and slow to settle, then bold.
Before you buy
Needs a mature system with live rock to graze and plenty of caves to retreat into. Not safe in a coral reef, and reaches 25 cm.
