Origin:®Native to the fast-flowing rivers and streams of India and Sri Lanka, the Mascara Barb thrives in habitats with clean, oxygen-rich water.
Feeding:®An omnivore by nature, Mascara Barbs are not picky eaters. They enjoy a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes or pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms, as well as some vegetable matter.
Tank Mates:®Mascara Barbs do well with other active, similarly-sized fish such as other barbs, danios, rainbowfish, and larger tetras. They should be kept in groups of 6 or more to reduce stress and aggression.
