Origin:
Originating from Japan, metallic butterfly koi are selectively bred for their radiant sheen, flowing finnage, and refined coloration. This koi combines brilliant metallic color with the fluid elegance of butterfly fins.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
