Valenciennea puellaris
Description
A pale sand-sifting goby marked with rows of bright orange spots. Industrious, peaceful and a genuine working part of a sand-bed system.
Feeding
Sifts sand for small invertebrates, and must also be fed directly - frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and sinking pellets, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful and reef safe. Keep singly or as a bonded pair. Constant sand-sifting will dust low-lying corals.
Behaviour and personality
Takes mouthfuls of sand and sifts out the edible content, working methodically across the tank all day.
Before you buy
Will starve on sand fauna alone in most home tanks, so deliberate feeding is essential. Needs a deep fine sand bed and a sealed lid, as they jump.

Free delivery when your livestock subtotal is over £350.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum order value.

- In-stock livestock orders will be processed and dispatched for delivery on the date selected on the cart/basket page.
- Available delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
- If any stock issues affect your chosen delivery date, we will contact you as soon as possible by email or telephone.
- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
