The Platinum Gold Gourami is a striking, selectively bred color form of the hardy Three-Spot Gourami, boasting a brilliant golden-yellow to creamy platinum sheen that glows under aquarium lighting. Origin:
Wild-type Trichopodus trichopterus originates from slow-moving rivers, swamps, and floodplains across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. The Platinum Gold morph was developed entirely through aquarium breeding.
Feeding:
Omnivorous and undemanding. Accepts high-quality flakes, pellets, and granules, as well as frozen or live foodssuch as brine shrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae, and bloodworms. Occasional vegetable-based foods help maintain digestion and health.
Tank Mates:
Generally peaceful, but males can be mildly territorial—especially toward other gouramis. Ideal companions include tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, rainbowfish, and peaceful barbs. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species.
