Hoplolatilus purpureus
Description
A slender, elegant tilefish in soft lavender-purple, hovering in open water above the sand. Peaceful and among the most committed jumpers in the marine hobby.
Feeding
Planktivore. Frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and fine marine pellets, three or more times daily.
Compatibility
Reef safe and peaceful. Best as a pair. Cannot be kept with aggressive tankmates.
Behaviour and personality
Hovers above the sand bed in open water, retreating into a rubble burrow when startled.
Before you buy
The jumping is the critical issue - tilefish routinely kill themselves against the lid or leap through the smallest gap in the first days. The tank must be completely sealed. They also need frequent feeding and plenty of rubble to burrow into.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum or maximum order value.
