Nothobranchius rachovii
Description
One of the most spectacular freshwater fish available: males in electric blue and orange with a barred tail. An annual species with a naturally very short life.
Feeding
Carnivorous. Frozen bloodworm, daphnia and brine shrimp, and live foods where possible. Usually refuses dry flake.
Compatibility
Best kept as a species tank, one male with two or more females. Males are aggressive toward one another. Not suitable for a general community.
Behaviour and personality
Males display constantly to females and spar with rivals. Spawns into a peat or sand substrate.
Before you buy
This is the essential point: Nothobranchius are annual killifish and naturally live around nine to twelve months, sometimes a little longer in aquaria. That is normal rather than a sign of poor care, but buyers should know before purchase. They also generally refuse dry food.

Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
There is no minimum order value.

- Shipping for dry goods is charged separately from livestock delivery and does not count towards the £350 free delivery threshold. Dry goods are dispatched according to our standard delivery policy.
