Description
A selected form of the flame tetra with a deeper, more saturated red across the rear body and fins. Peaceful, hardy and long established in the hobby.

Flake, micro-pellets and small frozen foods.
Compatibility
Peaceful community fish. Keep in groups of eight or more with a mix of sexes.
Behaviour and personality
Calm mid-water shoaler. Males display to one another and intensify in colour when they do.
Before you buy
Tolerates cooler water than most tropical tetras, which makes it useful for an unheated or subtropical setup. Colour deepens over dark substrate.
