Trimma caudomaculatum
Description
A minute pygmy goby in translucent orange-red with a distinct spot at the tail base. Tiny, jewel-like and easily overlooked.
Feeding
Carnivorous. Needs very small foods - frozen cyclops, enriched baby brine shrimp and live copepods - twice daily.
Compatibility
Reef safe and entirely peaceful. Far too small for a general community; suits a nano reef with no predators.
Behaviour and personality
Perches on rock and in caves, often upside down beneath overhangs, darting short distances.
Before you buy
At 2-3 cm it cannot compete with anything and will be eaten by many standard reef fish. Best in a dedicated nano tank with an established pod population.
