Symphysodon discus
Description
A pigeon blood discus line bred for a deep red-orange body over a pale base. As demanding as any discus, and spectacular when kept properly.
Feeding
Frozen bloodworm, beefheart preparations, discus granules and brine shrimp, fed several times daily.
Compatibility
Keep as a group of five or more. Very few suitable tankmates - rummynose tetras and corydoras work, most other community fish do not.
Behaviour and personality
Calm and deliberate, with a clear pecking order in a settled group.
Before you buy
Requires consistently warm, soft, immaculate water and frequent large water changes. Pigeon blood lines are prone to dark peppering, which is heavily influenced by stress and background colour. Not a beginner's fish.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
