Poecilia reticulata
Description
A selectively bred guppy strain carrying a deep red flush across the head, contrasted against a pale body and patterned tail. Livebearing, active and constantly on display.
Feeding
Quality flake and micro-pellets with some vegetable content, plus frozen daphnia and brine shrimp.
Compatibility
Peaceful and suitable for most communities. Avoid fin-nippers such as tiger barbs. Keep more females than males to spread male attention.
Behaviour and personality
Constantly active and visible. Males display and chase females persistently throughout the day.
Before you buy
Guppies want hard, alkaline water and do poorly in soft acidic setups. They breed readily and will produce fry continuously in a mixed-sex group, so plan for that or keep a single sex.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
