Chaetodon ephippium
Description
A large butterflyfish with a bold black saddle edged in white across the back, a trailing dorsal filament and an orange throat. Handsome and hardy for the family.
Feeding
Omnivorous and relatively adaptable. Frozen mysis, clam, chopped prawn, marine pellets and dried algae, two or three times daily.
Compatibility
Peaceful toward fish. Not reef safe - will eat corals, anemones and tubeworms.
Behaviour and personality
Cruises steadily and picks at rockwork. Bold once settled, and grows substantially.
Before you buy
One of the hardier butterflyfish and among the easier to feed, but it reaches 22-25 cm and will strip a reef of corals and anemones.

Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
