Six Line Wrasse Pseudocheilinus Hexataenia

The Six Line Wrasse is a vibrant and active reef fish known for its striking blue and orange horizontal stripes and energetic personality. Hardy, adaptable, and highly beneficial, it helps control unwanted pests such as bristleworms and flatworms while adding constant motion and color to any marine aquarium.

Found throughout the Indo-Pacific, including the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef, Pseudocheilinus hexataenia inhabits coral reefs and lagoons, darting among rockwork and corals for shelter and food.

An omnivore that readily accepts frozen mysis, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets. It also naturally grazes on small invertebrates and pests in the aquarium. Feed 2–3 times daily.

Best kept with semi-aggressive or similarly active species such as tangs, clownfish, and larger wrasses. Avoid housing with timid or slow-moving fish, as the Six Line can become territorial, particularly in smaller aquariums.

Semi-aggressive, especially toward similar-shaped wrasses or newcomers once established. Provide plenty of live rock and hiding spots to reduce territorial behavior.

Ideal for intermediate aquarists. The Six Line Wrasse is hardy and easy to care for but requires thoughtful tank mate selection and ample swimming space.
