Caracanthus unipinna
Description
A tiny, velvety scorpionfish relative that wedges itself among coral branches and rarely moves. Cryptic, charming and almost impossible to spot.
Feeding
Carnivorous. Frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and small chunks of prawn, offered close to where it sits.
Compatibility
Reef safe with corals. Will eat very small shrimp and fish. Entirely peaceful otherwise, and easily outcompeted by fast feeders.
Behaviour and personality
Wedges into branching coral or rockwork and stays put, moving only to feed. Rarely seen once settled.
Before you buy
Needs branching coral or dense rockwork to wedge into, and food delivered close by, as it will not chase. Has mildly venomous spines, so handle with care.
DX courier delivery is £20 per livestock order.
Delivery is scheduled for your selected delivery date and typically arrives before 1pm.
