Persicaria Bistorta | Common Bistort
Persicaria Bistorta, or Common Bistort, has attractive prominently veined, ovate leaves up to 30cm long have poker shaped bottle brush like mauve-pink flowers rise above them. Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy.

Where do you plant marginal pond plants?
Marginal Pond Plants, such as the Persicaria Bistorta - Common Bistort can be placed in the shallow areas of a pond. This is usually around the edges, or margin, of the pond. Certain types of marginal pond plants can be planted out of the pond water in damp ground, ideal for a bog garden or water garden display.
