Swan mussels (Anodonta cygnea) are often sold in aquatic shops as natural “water filters” or as interesting additions to cold‑water aquaria. However, despite their popularity, they are not well suited to indoor tanks.

The "Elton John" crustacean, Leucothoe eltoni, was initially discovered in the coral reefs of Raja Ampat in Indonesia. Researchers behind the study were later contacted by scientists in Hawaii, where L. eltoni had arrived as an invasive species.
