Good quality koi carp can cost a couple of hundred pounds at your average garden centre or koi farm, but any potential resale value is negligible - especially after being introduced into your unique garden pond ecosystem.

Wheatgerm is an easily assimilated, highly digestible daily diet for coldwater fish, and also some tropical fish. Pond fish such as koi, goldfish, koi fry and larger tropical fish (like cichlids) will happily eat wheatgerm pellets.

Herons, whilst spectacular to look at, are overall negative for garden ponds. Herons will eat the fish and other animals in the pond, and can also damage pond plants and the pond liner with their sharp beaks.

The order Cypriniformes contains a vast variety of fish, including all of the carp-like fish (Common carp, koi carp, mirror carp etc) and smaller fish such as barbs, rasboras and danios, plus loaches and others.
